NEW POP UP GUEST: Fabrik8

We are excited to announce our Pop Up Designer for May - Fabrik8.

Little, local & ethical, Fabrik8 garments are thoughtfully hand-made by now Auckland-based designer Keight Watson. Fabrik8 garments reflect Keight’s ethos and passion for locally made products. Using her skills in designing, pattern making, cutting and sewing each piece is hand-made in quality New Zealand milled fabrics in the hope that it will be worn for years to come.

Completing a textiles course at Otago Polytechnic in 2017 rebooted Kate’s creativity and resulted in the relaunch her design label Fabrik8. The label had been on hold since 2010 when she had her two kids.

“I’ve been making clothing since I was a child. I’ve always created garments that feature function over fashion and comfort over everything. It was important to me to make sure that Fabrik8 could continue to create truly locally made garments for years to come, so I purchased and stockpiled a range of New Zealand milled fabrics when the local supplier stopped manufacturing it.”

After a number of years supplying retail stores, Keight opened her own retail store Neighbourhood Goods in Auckland when she relocated there in 2018. Fabrik8 now sells exclusively through Neighbourhood Goods online store.

Fabrik8 will be available instore from Tuesday 3 May.
