Tell us a little about what you make.
I love creating decor pieces for the home, particularly scented objects like candles, diffusers and wax melts. I use high quality fragrance oil for maximum scent throw and hand pour each item.
What was your creative journey like, what led you to being a designer/maker?
I have always enjoyed creating, through art, the kitchen or the garden. Being surrounded by so much creativity in Dunedin gave me the push to try communication design and I ended up studying sculpture.
How would you describe your design aesthetic/identity and where do you find your inspiration?
My aesthetic is playful and modern, often with a bit of a Gothic twist.
I find inspiration in pop culture, history and looking to current trends and thinking about what the opposite of them could be.
Do you have any advice for other makers and budding creatives?
Love what you create, stand by your beliefs and make, make, make!
What is the best part about being involved in GUILD?
It’s a unique opportunity to be part of a community of incredible local makers under one roof.
